do the following choose a current beginner map and facade similar parts but not the same base yourself on it it doesn't matter if it takes a long time or not the important thing is to make the map good and fun

nixuslegendary 05/18/2025 11:06 PM

the map is terrible in my opinion but I'll let the testers talk better about the parts

Creating a good map takes a lot of time. You shouldn't rush any part of the process. :)

Hey, I just had a look and this will unfortunately be a decline. Some feedback and advice below. ^^'

Detailed feedback:

  1. Why are you using teleporters here? They are basically useless. Also place multiple spawn tiles and shift them up - off the ground by one tile.
  2. & 3. These tiles do nothing.
  3. Beginners won't understand the parts with so much empty space. They might not be familiar with spectating or zoom and have no idea what is going on below. The parts are very basic otherwise.
  4. You can just skip the middle section.
  5. Repetitive and not interesting. Just a straight walk with some jumps. :P
  6. Also too basic. You are only passing a straight line.
  7. A bit repetitive again and too much space. You won't see what's above and what is coming up next.
  8. Unmarked tiles.
  9. Can easily skip the last part.
  10. If you touch the checkpoint and fall back you will end up at the spawn without a finish.

General advice:

  • If you are trying to create a novice map allow the players to see what is coming next.
  • The parts should be easy to understand but also creative.
  • Try to give your maps a better structure and not have the players teleport from room to room.
  • Avoid repeating parts.

The design is pretty basic but a good start. :) Make sure to check the mapping rules and guidelines if you haven't already: https://discord.com/channels/252358080522747904/1201860080463511612/1246863268396404806

Hope to see some cool map from you in the future!
