its just a really short map. hope you guys like it though
how does it work? i dont have access to my pc and the preview is confusing
its just endless drag+endless jump+grenade+no collision. also i put unfreeze in every air tile. its actually pretty fun trying to speedrun the map
oh and i put grenade fire delay to 300 because it felt better
maybe add a stopper where the tp is, i needed to restart 3 times to actually start

i just tried to play the map on test server but my dummy doesnt die at the end. but it works on my homeserver. whats up with that?
the default mode on test is practice so you might have played in practice mode, just a guess
Dear Mapper, your map contains invisible speedtiles... I would like to ask you to fix them, but on the otherside I don't know how you should, since they are invisible π€
i agree, the filesize is very big and it feels weird for a small map with a rather simple design, would be nice to downscale this image π

Played the map, should it be played like on vid? All over the map? And u don't really need grenade to pass it, only if u want to speedrun it. Idk, maybe i just ain't understood the mechanic of the map or the point of this whole map, then mb

wtf are you really writing about file size when this is the laziest map of such a good mapper? in my opinion this is an obvious decline and not because of the file size
decline or not maps shouldnt be this big
this should not be a primary factor, file size is only important if the map has potential for release
what's the point of testing the size of a map that is not in a release state
what if i wanna test but my internet is garbage

your test is to estimate the file size in that case

I think the concept of the map is that it can be played slowly (like how you did it), or fast by using rocket

Not every map has to be an innovative masterpiece imo. It's refreshing to have simplistic maps that focus on one thing. It's often the short and simple maps that people put time into grinding times on, at least that's my view.

Youre right. The whole map could be just freeze but i added hook and unhook to give a little more diversity. Youre not really meant to hook so i didnt make a big difference Your run sure doesnt look exciting. But its like walking through run_blue without grenade. π
Yes its not a innovative map. I Just found this fly technique that i liked and made a map for it. If its not ddnet suitable then i am fine with that

There is some truth in what you say, but I think Race maps meant to be speedruned, name of the category says for itself, race is race. So if you are walking through run_blue without grenade you won't get to the leaderboard, in other hand - if u finished it and got points for finish other way but with grenade, if it works - it works. But you still going to meet difficulties along the way in almost every race map. This map is just something different, there is no difficulties on this map, u can even hold hook and just jump through, there is no content in it ig. And only if u want better time u can use grenade. Idk, it is just controversial, cuz this map fully feels like a race map, but it isn't. Im not against this map, it just doesn't feel right. Compare to Pipou's maps, so for example we can use "Buckle up" one mechanic, one trick, yeah, but it's completely gameplay changing mechanic, u literally use grenade to stick to the walls(if i remember it right), u ain't do it in classic gameplay, grenade isn't working like that. Your map using simple classic mechanics(hook, jump, guns and no collision, which only increases the simplicity) but doesn't really give worthy challenges to use the full potential of these mechanics. Also we can look at "Fireball" map uses 1 mechanic with grenade based on moving to the direction of shooting. But all along the maps there is a lot of moves u have to do, such as different variations of unfreeze into right direction while u freezed moves. And a lot of simple turns and rotations u have to do. As i said before, Im not against this map as much as you, and i would be glad to see this map in a different "wrapper" cuz now it just isn't filled with anything interesting. But i respect you as talented and creative mapper and i like your works.
At the end, to summarize all of the said above. It's interesting, but u definitely can make it a lot more fun and interesting to play. Because i think a lot of players will have bad experience playing this map as i did without revealing the speedrun capabilities.
hi the map looks cool if you want to make it more difficult leave the tee with 10 jumps and leave each point of the map with a recharge jump, so that you can recover all the jumps and not fall into the void
the map is pretty short so i think the max is 5 points for this

might be sick if it starts with 2 jumps and each part after it gets an additional jump. the parts get longer over time and probably harder

Map doesn't feature any actual gameplay and is obviously really not interesting or up to today's standards. There is already some reasonable feedback mentioned above. While it's great to see you back this is unfortunately really not a map that we'd release. However, we appreciate you still mapping and hope to see still some more maps to come. π
