well, theres a lot of short solo maps, like: jajpack, taser, Volt and Mud
how can I edit the map? heres the file:
maps get automatically uploaded by the bot when you upload them, just provide a changelog
1.slightly changed logo texture 2.merged 2 tile sets 3.added missing tp 4.added high detail support
this map really has no gameplay (this is +- half of the map)
each part can be completed with a double jump and 1 hook to the ceiling or just hooks on the ceiling (except for part with jetpack)
for me this map can't be released with such parts and I don't see any way to improve it except rework and coming up with more interesting parts

honestly the map could be worked with as you put a lot effort into the map already ( design wise mostly ) one of the biggest issues is to differ hookable from unhookable due to their colors and as the map seems very 1* like, you should maybe get rid of the unhookable instead. the parts like jetpack would be broken tho if you had hookable there instead, but you could rework the parts a little to fix that.
the map would also be better if you added more parts. the map is definitely not bad. cp3 and cp6 seem harder than the other parts tho and should be more balanced. cp3 more space for example as its really tight. and cp6 maybe half of the bullets.

Hey, I also had a very brief look at your map. While this was being reset I'd probably recommend to you to not get your hopes up too much. As a solo map I personally think that this won't be able to work out but you might think about reworking it to a novice map (preferably 1*) which I could see being decent gameplay-wise if done correctly. Design is great!

i personally dont like the borrowing of other games assets 1:1 for normal maps but i dont think we enforce anything 🫤

Do we really need this many 1* novice maps? People already play 5 stars in a crowd so I doubt that you need another Linear type map (which arguably has less stuff to do than even Linear)

, might be helpful in some cases, especially if you experience annoying texture bleeding at times

main gripe is that you could actually put Celeste mechanics in the map
especially these blocks and the feather item, also you could do a dash with a really high hook pull and wall elasticity on those blocks with faces idk didnt play celeste

the problem with ninja is you can't really restrict its usage without cancelling speed

let me state more clearly though, I think this map is fine despite being a bit boring, I just think it's a bit unfortunate that it uses Celeste tileset when you could literally make a Celeste map in ddrace xd

Doesnt need to be a 1 to 1 copy of celeste mechanics. Actually its better if its a unique take on them, cuz otherwise I would rather just play celeste

we tried, but it looks weird
you can play around with clipping too and try to have it look acceptable

- made memorial text appear when standing near it

Not much of a gameplay to look at, feels mostly like hook it but even it had some swings and speedrun strats, here it feels repetitive and kinda raw (just 1 part for jetpack, 2 shots for shotgun). Not a huge fan of copying textures 1 to 1 from a game that is commercial and releasing it on official servers, couldn't find what is the license for the textures in this game but still feels wrong. All in all feels like gameplay could've been better and design is straight up stolen from another game which is weird to me, would've decline but people don't seem to agree on that.
The gameplay is just overall just bland
And the assets seem like 1:1 from celeste

tho i think the stone tiles should also be unhookable
the gameplay is a bit plain for and 1-dimensional, but with enough polishing it could be good. try to make intentional parts intead of just hooking the ceiling / wall most of the way thru the map (i.e. swings or hooks that you have to plan before-hand that require some cool movement or thinking)
also remove the shotgun and jetpack parts if you're only going to use htem for 1 part

Okay, I already realized that the map is bad in terms of gameplay. But is it possible to make it a fun map? Just so people can play and enjoy the music and decor from Celeste.
Just buy Celeste xD
fun maps have gameplay standards too, so it would still need changes. it's not necessarily the category where any solo map not good enough for solo gets put
