we noticed that the 1 star novice maps are too hard for absolutely beginners. for all maps you need a pro who has to help. therefore we made a novice map for beginners. We tested this map with our beginners friends and adjusted it to them. this map will probably be boring for everyone here but it is meant for beginners to practice. we think novice 0 stars so it can be found more easily but 1 point for motivation.

tbh its true that we lack actual novice maps, and since we will probably never have a proper tutorial i can see such maps being useful (even tho we dont need too many of them coz they are truly only useful once for a player)
that one is decent coz it introduces several key mechanics for ddrace and has a good difficulty scaling

and i would put "hold d+jump" rather than "press d+space" since people might change the jumping hotkey and "press d" might confuse people into trying to time the input with the lazer shot

hey, i love the concept of an introductory map and i do think ddnet doesnt really offer that map (i assume this map is meant for people who are new to teeworlds)
even though i will list rather many details, pls dont think i dont like the map. i think its really well done :), but it can still be made quite a bit more beginner-friendly
i think that this map is still a bit harsh and confusing in certain parts: gonna list them up enumerated so you can reference my points easily

No. teeworlds means to try a map several times. when i learned teeworlds i did with noobfilter. I tried noobfilter several hours. and then the map was too heavy for me. if you like this game, do not give up after a try.

its basic and rather unfaily, figuring some stuff out by urself is what makes people stick to a game
To be honest I've seen better tutorial maps such as the Kobra series and Multimap, if you're onto impression design wise. This has no actual impressions but some interesting parts on it i would say. But how you implement the name "learntoplay" does not exactly shows any improvability by only finishing once. The idea is nice, but i expected more.

i always wanted to implement animation control, so that with a trigger (tunes) i can stop the animations and fast forwarding it
