Hey guys, this is the last map of the "Nightstar" series.
It's like the first two maps, hammerhit and hammerfly, perfect for a small team or a team 0. It should be bug free -> thx to my testers: Cendren, Gorden, Prozzle, Hydra, Neelrad, Freezestyler

first part has the stronghold issue, needs a filter or something to cope with that

Those two screenshots aren't that hard, i can give some more space for the first screenshot (before i fix i will wait for 1 or 2 more opinions). The second is very easy, with kinta u can't fail, just hammer or u unfreeze someone through the freeze :)

i used this tileset also in nightstar 2, it's an open source game, u can't steal anything π
@jaook i now know what u mean, i personally dont have a problem with that because in my eyes this map is more a 2p or 4p team map, many maps starts without a noobfilter and ye, idk its an hh/hf map, a noobfilter wouldnt fit for me :/ i just removed the freeze on the top platform that u have dj, it seems unfaily for me

the problem with annoying afk tees still remains. you donβt need a filter to fix it tho, can work around it with smart mapping (see stronghold 2). and ye suka is right, the first screen is too punishing. generally the anti-cheat kill tiles are kinda stupid and a lazy fix
Fixed the first screenshot from suka, also changed the start a bit, maybe its good like this... π

but jao for example, bit2 also contains afkler at the first part
bit2 has a filter + kill tiles next to start to cope with that

i think he meant, that u can rush this pretty easy in 2p team
not really better for 2p than any other hammerhit map
and I'm not sure if the first swing will work on a full server, people will very likely be blocking it
you should just remake the whole start instead of trying to hotfix it

Well I had a closer look at all the parts and I don't see a significant upgrade from part 2, just longer and failier. Seeing how neither part 1 or 2 get played much I'm not in favor of releasing this one, will have to wait for
@jao's opinion before deciding though.
I guess you are right, bumblebee was kinda popular and then with the nightstars it always decreased. so it seems like things are moving in the wrong direction.. well I never liked these, but I also donβt think it would be a terrible release
on the other hand you have to know when to stop π€·π»ββοΈ

what about identifying the problems of previous versions and making sure they're fixed now

I think the reason why these are not doing well is because they are a) not well thought through (like strongholds) and b) not pushing boundaries (like back in the days)
i agree to 50% about the "uncreative" parts, but there are some parts with creativity π i tried to give the "uncreative" parts ways to do some tricks... i know that most of the people dont like this maps, but i still think its worth for a rls, because i had this now a few times, when i play with my mates, we r playing this maps to calm down or to warm up for maps like bit2 oder whatever π

Not saying it's completely uncreative it's just not any better than part 1 or 2 (actually part 1 is the best of them all)
and I don't see the point in releasing 3 parts of an already barely played map that doesn't shine with great creativity or mapping quality
if you wanna warm up, why does the map have to be on ddnet
if you wanna warm up and chill you can play stronghold, actually with some parts that I see on this map it's definitely not a "warm up" map
also that you say that kinda shows that you're aware that it's not a "top tier" map people would actually play for fun lol
because this are easy points - and the map inst boring so fun aswall it isnt a top tier map, i know that but it is fun

the point is that the map isn't an improvement to the previous parts, but a downgrade

The problem of the map is that you have to be ultra careful on every part or you die immediately. You can't chill or just play this map for fun. And even if you play very carefully there are some killer parts that kill 90% of the players.
idk how good u r but, u cant die on every single part xd, like 90% is saveable there are maybe 3-4 parts where u can die
