I fixed this issue in Cultist my randomly changing quad colors
it turns out that darker colors usually cause that issue

if you mean banding, I guess you can only fix that by adding shit ton of noise onto light image
or by just changing colors
more light colors should not cause that issue
or you could use high res light image
it depends on alpha value and on how much he strechted it out
512x512px light image should help
but I don't have one
high res, but it would still need noise to fix the issue
can u prove that u have permission to use the design
without noise you will always end up with visible steps, especially when the quad is so huge
