Its because mapper and some testers are stubborn. The map could release like it is or he fixes it fast. But neither happens

i already explain 1000 times, but the logs are bugged because he reposted 10000000000000 times. empty space and parts, so i'll give just 1 example. -red box, just void -yellow box is gore (globally too much gore in the map, even borace don't have that much gore) -blue "the part" 1 hammer with setup, and of course it can be cheat -green, pick gameplay (hooking up in a tight zone for 80 tiles).
other issue, he don't want to fix anything he insulted some the other tester (long time ago on the first submit) he wait many months for nothing, i don't see why i would take time for that

the only problem that might occur after several weeks is that the map is too long. this was the case with bit3.
people wanted a new map in this style, got bit3... after a few weeks the map wasn't so popular anymore, because the players mostly only saw the first 20-30 parts and it became too boring. same problem as with susterism...
most testers just don't understand why people are happy with such a map because their own taste is different (like vena for example). hardly any t0/hh map has any innovative parts because people just like this ‘newer’ hh/t0 style and enjoy playing it.

depend what the other tester wants, personally i would say : why not for empty space if it add an utility (it's not even well place to move in with swing, fly or other funny thing we could do inside) make the map shorter with less gores, and work more on some fillers and transition I shown. fix some skip that are obvious like 4p tower or other skip (still have to be t0 friendly of course)

What problems I see 1 Too much filler about 80% and 20% are idea parts 2 Too hard unbalanced map, especially the idea parts 3 Lots of skips Also this map looks like the first hh maps, now the quality of this type of map has improved. This looks like an old map Because of these problems. I didn't enjoy the map
A good example of such a map is “Susterism”. Just compare the level design of these two maps and you'll see the difference.

this fix would work i guess (taking the old version and deleting some unhookables), well maybe add some anti cheat in that case...
You can also move the kill tile and the unhook (where you dj) 2-3 tiles more to the left, so its not so annoying to time it.

this was a minimum, and we can't go lower than this we tested this map alot and found alot of stuff that we want to change, but if you don't fix the minimum, we can't release the map (because afaik not enough testers would release the map in its current state) according to the rules, your map may also not be unbalanced (i posted a screenshot about an unbalanced part)

the no flow part is the gores part that was boring for you when it had flow?
you changed it already? my reasoning would be, that you have many tries to perform the cheat in t0 and it would affect speedruns (if some players would try to do that xd). we did it at the 2nd try iirc, tee on the bottom goes into freeze, holds a. the tee on top goes down -> hammer -> dj -> short hook. maybe there is a better setup with coords which would make it work in any case. needs further testing now.
since im posting screens anyways, i can do more 😅
i mean there are already kill tiles there. imo on such a map where there even is platform before the part its quite easy to spectate the part and look where not to go.

There has been an internal vote on this map that ended in a draw. 5-days deadline that I gave for making suggestions for essential changes has exceeded without anyone taking part.
Everything that was mentioned as a flaw I do think is just a minority and of no big deal for the map‘s being as a whole. Silex also does not have to change every little thing that is mentioned if he doesn’t want to as it’s just mapper’s choice and it’s not like those are map-breaking issues. It’s his map after all and it’s releasable in its current state. While I think that the map is just decent from a tester’s perspective, I still think it will be played much and I‘d understand the hype as a player.
Not really sure how to handle such cases as the opinions in the testing team are entirely split but in my opinion it’s ready.

It's been quite some time and it currently doesn't look like the other testers want to ready it without changes. I went trough what everyone found and tested it in game to only keep the biggest issues. With that said I added suggestions and they should be pretty easy to implement so no big reworks needed.
- If you are unaware and go in too low you will fail. Make it more intuitive.
- You either need or would be more comfortable to have dj at the marked sections. I'd add two more edges where you can get it by yourself.
- Spacing is pretty bad for t0. The safe space should be extended a bit.
- I'd delete a few of the "hook up trough kill tiles and press d" blocks and above invert the middle block to freeze from below. (repetition is the biggest issue here.)
- Delete one more block so it's not hyper annoying to save.
- This part didn't really work for me. I suggest extending the unfreeze side one to the left.
- Here you are blocking each other and spam hook straight up + pressing d for a solid 10 seconds. If you don't want to rework it a bit cut at least the marked section.
- Let the players get the needed dj somewhere else as well without blocking the path. (Could be a single block in the middle with a kill tile on top as well.)
- The unfreeze should be extended up - it's very easy to miss.
- It's possible to fail with weak hook here just moving the right hook trough down by one will fix that.
- An indicator where to drop here would be great.
- Still very easy to skip by just jumping.
- & 14. It would be good to have some more kill tiles higher as well so you are reminded not to drop at the wall during the part.
- The second player will be just walking over 100blocks. I added a suggestion to decrease the length and make it more interesting.
- You are able to go back from farther down. Why not also at the ones above?
If there is something I suggested because I did it wrong feel free to correct me but I'm pretty confident in those findings.
Hope we can agree soon and look at a new release candidate.

After these two weeks, only design and quality of life (QoL) fixes will be allowed, provided they don't impact the leaderboard rankings. we have plans for december and this was the only last weekend slot until then, it seemed like a good surprise release for players & to make sure the map doesn't get overshadowed by a packed release agenda, but what louis says is completely right; should definitely have made sure it was okay - sorry about that

Imo every mapper should get a better treatment generally because you just test the map, THEY are working on it for a long time and they are the reason why ddnet is where it is. Don't understand me wrong, testers are important aswell, but don't forget to appreciate the work of the people doing the maps.

You should be a little bit nicer instead of writing stuff like „parts are gore, boring and shit“ – wow i am sure that keeps people on doing maps. You seem like a huge fan of mine because you take everything i write very, very literally. Do we have some bad past or something? If yes, i don't even remember. Also you shouldn‘t be this loud if we talk about maps, because you don't even made one yourself and you do not have no biggest clue of the process doing one. Imo you should get banned from testers, you have no idea how to deal with people obviously. Also maybe think about mapping is not a job, if i don't fix it for a long time so be it, no need to rage. First of all i as a mapper want to tell you that i care a lot about mappers and i'm working hard for everybody getting a fair treatment, because i cannot imagine a healthy testing environment without equality. I even fight with the admins, when they suggest that some mappers should get a special treatment (happened like 1 week ago). If you have issues with a member of the testing staff, write a staff complaint ticket

Imo you should get banned from testers It doesn't help ddnet, the more active testers there are, the higher quality maps that come out. Each person tests differently. So if you really don't want a healthy ddnet you can keep thinking like that. Also you shouldn‘t be this loud if we talk about maps, because you don't even made one yourself I don't understand why I hear this month so often. And I still don't understand why people think it's a problem?
Let's take the example of food from a restaurant. Where a restaurant is a ‘map.’ Restaurant critics don't need to have own a restaurant or have a signature dish to leave a good review of a restaurant and food.
Or here's another example with a football trainer. Many trainers are not very good players, but they do their job very well.
I may not have given very good examples, but I hope you get my point and that your point is not very good.

for this point I agree, ddnet is not on his best, and testers are 1 of the keys (with dev, admin …) but tester can’t do much without mappers and when you are refusing to fix and give a low quality fix with that much experience, you are not the one working for the good state of ddnet, I don’t think you are the most qualify to talk about the state of the game, you are not playing anymore (or maybe I’m not aware) and not updated to what happens, specially in testing if you don’t know that we are not asking for date rls if it’s not a special demand from the mapper.
I got to almost end of map. And i just want to say its a great map all round. No idea why it was in testing for so long. Great map

Apart from the discussion about the map (I can understand both sides) you have to admit that you often offend people. Maybe you don't realize it or maybe it's the language barrier, but often I see harsh words and lack of empathy/kindness. Work on it and you good
