I do not quite understand the point of using the old ht, other than the visual difference there is nothing that could affect the gameplay for example. Except in rare cases, where the same ht placed is crooked, because of which the hook may not work like with the new ht, but this is not a very good reason to say that the map is no longer old school. Here is a vivid example of changing the gameplay https://ddnet.org/mappreview/?map=Inception+Oldschool, in the original version, kill tiles were completely absent on the map, whereas in the released version there are a lot of kill tiles, but it's still oldschool, why? ;D

its a complete rework by us cuz its a good map but its from 2011 and the map was totally open everywhere so u could fly and aled everywhere which wasnt possible back then
i dont want to see tiles in pre ddnet maps that didnt exist back then
I increasingly notice that over time there are more and more rules and blots in relation to old school maps. I clearly remember the phrase "The gameplay of old school maps cannot be changed in any way, except for those cases when the map contains skips from start to finish, or some skips in the middle of the gameplay that significantly speed up the passage", no longer I remember who said it, but until recently I was sure that this is the only rule that should be taken into account in the first place when testing / fixing old school maps. But, unfortunately, things are very sad, the rules are often ignored and changes are made to old maps.
You say that in Inception_Oldschool there was a lot of space that could be skipped with aled, so what was the problem with just taking and closing this space without interfering with the gameplay? I understand that the map is open and that you can skip almost the entire map, but I still can not understand the reason for spamming kills all over the map. Okay, kills have been added, but a huge part of the gameplay has been changed as well, so I don’t think that when reworking the map, you limited yourself to just closing the skips around. The result is a completely different map.
Damn, and if you take and change the old ht to a new one, then the map immediately becomes not old school, I don’t understand something in this iron logic of yours.

it was literally impossible to just close the map. Yeah its a very different map now but the main structure still exists. It wasnt me to add all the kills tho. It doesnt matter anyway because oldschool is for nostalgical reasons for good maps from pre ddnet time. Adding tiles that didnt exist back then is just against the oldschool spirit. The LichKing rework also had to remove its ddnet tiles
