this is outdated as you can see on the testlogs of this map. Tsin talked to Obst and he agreed for his maps to be released on ddnet. The plan was a special release for several Obst maps which didnt happen in 3 years so i think we should just normally release it now. On DDmax probably

i also wouldnt like to post Tsin's "remastered" map to DDNet anyway - i'd rather have the original to enjoy. - and given we have Obst's permission

I have the permission, you guys don't have Obst's permission (you don't even have the latest version of the map that he allowed me to release). Thats a big diffrence =] I have an agreement with him that I will release the map when all maps will be fixed/remastered ( if needed! ). It all depends on the map, some are 0.5 and won't give any satisfaction to anyone(maybe to like 10 purists - everyone else will hate it - map should give satisfaction to as many as possible not to few). Buy me a new hand and I will finish it all sooner ^^ (oh and btw wheres season 2? the maps were suppose to be done for that but after it got postponed then I realised that I also don't need to rush). It will be released when ready sooooo some time after Adorenarine 2 (reboot/remake or whatever it willl be) ๐
I do have a solution for that on how to satisfy most of the players and purists ^^ I just need more time =] and a new hand ^^
he never told you to rework any of that maps, its all alone your idea
whom but who but you know that I never lie. The map will be released when everything is ready. This map in current state will give fun to few and others will hate it for being outdated (gameplay/polish of many parts). Whats the point of giving most of the players a map that they will have to "grind" in rage to have all ddmaxes finished =/ not to mentions bugs/cheats. Map was good in 2013, back then players just wanted a new map and something to play on (also the skill level was much lower so nobody took bigger look in the flow run of the whole map). Releasing it in current state in 2025 will just make people hate it rather than enjoy it(we already see it on many ddmax maps). Players will always compare ddmax category to newer ddnet maps thats why they don't see that many of ddmax maps have outdated gameplay and don't give that much fun comparing to newer releases(good example is my valentees map with a terrible gameplay flow xD and my "o_O" map that is a walk simulator =/).
you literally say that ddmax is hated, has outdated gameplay, say it's not as fun, and literally give examples of maps that aren't fun then proceed to rant when someone mentions that a bad new release is similar to the bad gameplay and lack of flow from ddmax
reading with understanding is the key Many maps is not the same as all maps, many can be counted to like 10/20 and not ~500 of all ddmax maps(on ddnet theres more than 370 maps). I mainly focused on my own maps that they are terrible. I don't "rant" anyone about their true opinion. I just don't allowe players to use ddmax name as being the worst thing that ever happend also I don't allowe players to use ddmax just so they could seek attention (obviously to make fun of it). what you wrote have nothing to do with release of this map so please go to offtopic and ping me if you will have more questions or would like to discuss anything =] thank you ^^
the point of oldschool maps is that they are not adapted to today map standards, there is literally no need to rework this map
Do you have an estimation to when your remastering project is complete? I miss ddmax / oldschool releases
offtopic (sorry but I know that sooner or later someone will ask here what I mean by remaster). I would rather make a complete remakes or even reboots of the maps and release them in packages of lets say 30 maps every 2 months if it would be possible but on current ddnet its almost impossible and season 2 (or what ever the name) have more questions than answers. I don't even know if it or something will ever happen. Maybe a "new"(read standalone) ddmax server is the only option to do it right (then both purists and players who don't mind "newer" versions would be happy - I do have a solution to satisfy both ^^) I think I have more than 200 maps already finished probably more to 300. If my hand would work normaly then maps would already be finished. I just started working on remaster of walking dead map first screenshot is current ddnet version with green(spike dont feel connected), orange(freeze don't stick to walls and you can see holes also its old freeze graphics), red(you don't know if there is teleport or unfreeze or just normal space). Overall the map is floating in air not attached to anything. The second screenshot is from alpha version (just started working on it but what you see is on whole map done). The map no longer floats in air thx to grassmain (that tileset will be changed) Now I need to try more dark design and add extras like lamps or other decorations(to make the map feel more "walking dead" but nothing to do with tv series ^^). This map will be a very very simple remaster nothing truly fancy in it.
