Map 🐞: Debug output is too long, see attached file.

The noob filter could be a coincidence but one of the parts is copied 1-1 from Dote. (There could be more that I missed.

anitoxa465 05/16/2025 12:49 PM

Oh, yeah, we copied for lack of ideas.

anitoxa465 05/16/2025 12:50 PM

How bad is it? I know it's definitely not good, but is it really that bad?

anitoxa465 05/16/2025 12:55 PM

we can redo it if we need to.

Some examples of why this won't get released:

  1. Unmarked tele.
  2. Too hard to differentiate between hook and unhook.
  3. Second player does nothing. Also bad practice to only force a part with a door and a switch. (It's usually okay for dummy or solo maps)
  4. Very awkward to perform. Also overuse of special tiles again. Not enough space.
  5. Second player again does nothing also just a door to force the part again.
  6. Unmarked switch, very tight and awkward again.
  7. Kind of a waste of space to map this. Try to come up with something more creative. ^^

General notes for you:

  • Less special tiles.
  • More space where it gets tight.
  • Don't force parts by only placing a door.
  • Better visibility for different game tiles and make sure to mark all relevant tiles.
  • Balance the gameplay for each player. (Don't let one player do a part and the second player does nothing afterwards.)

Oh, all right.

catseyenebulous 05/16/2025 1:01 PM

Yes, it's bad. You should not copy parts. Having the same part on multiple maps is bad for the authenticity and quality of new maps.

catseyenebulous 05/16/2025 1:02 PM

But thanks for the submission, with more practice I could see a good map coming from you. :)

anitoxa465 05/16/2025 1:03 PM

It's the second card from us, I'm not sure we can do much more than that.

catseyenebulous 05/16/2025 1:09 PM

Just keep playing the game. The better you get at it the better you'll understand how to make smooth and fun parts.

anitoxa465 05/16/2025 1:10 PM

I don't think it will help, and it's unlikely we'll be doing a third card that won't be accepted again. But thanks for the advice anyway.

catseyenebulous 05/16/2025 1:13 PM

It definitely helps. And should you ever change your mind and make a third one get some advice during the process in https://discord.com/channels/252358080522747904/746534464984973323 so you won't get disappointed in the testing channel. :)
